VICTOR – Phyllis Jean Anderson McEvers passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011.
Phyllis was born in Spokane, Wash., on June 5, 1923. She grew up in Spokane and was trained as a nurse at Deaconess Hospital. She lived her life as the ultimate nurse, always caring for others and especially concerned about the babies and children of the world. She touched many lives in many places over her lifetime. Wherever she lived she worked to make the community a better place to live.
Phyllis married Chuck McEvers in 1944. They were married for 66 years before his passing in August 2010. They are survived by two sons and two daughters, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her family was always the love of her life and she wanted everyone to remember that “love conquers all.”
A remembrance gathering will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, from 3-5 p.m. at the Stevensville Senior Center, 100 Mission St.
The family suggests memorials to UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), 125 Maiden Lane, New York, NY 10038; Planned Parenthood, 219 E. Main St, Missoula, MT 59802; or Victor Schools Umbrella for the Arts, P.O. Box 568, Stevensville, MT 59870

Condolence Messages
Her dedication to the community was never ending. All the fun times in the Civic Club trailer. Getting the trailer to and from the fairgrounds. Getting set up for Breakfast in the Park. She was the force to get things done. All wonderful memories for us. The last time I saw Phylis she had just had her hair done. Pink highlights. I'll miss that laugh!
What a game gal. She will be missed. Quote
