Timothy Leon Kennedy

MISSOULA - Timothy Leon Kennedy, 33, of Missoula died April 10, 2013.

Tim was born Jan. 7, 1980, in Eugene, Ore. to Theresa and Harold 'Leon' Kennedy relocating back to the San Diego area of Southern California in the mid '80s.

As a child, Tim loved all types of animals, which created many interesting situations and stories. Possessing an intelligence and "thirst for knowledge" beyond his years, he once read an entire series of encyclopedias with a dictionary to ensure he understood all of the words. Most importantly, Tim developed a strong love of Christ and earnestly studied His word. Tim could always be called upon to recall and recite a particular verse of the Bible.

During his teen years, Tim developed the art of discussion and debate, enabling him to discuss a gamut of topics from Hulk Hogan vs. Superman, his siblings love interests, U.S. politics, and the need to have faith. In 1996, Tim became a proud Montana resident, moving outside of Great Falls to the town of Belt, then eventually to Stevensville.

Tim graduated from the University of Montana in 2006 with a degree in finance and economics. Utilizing his education, intense drive to succeed, and "sense of purpose" in helping others, Tim found satisfaction as a mortgage banker. Upon meeting his girlfriend, Melinda Juell, Tim discovered a love never experienced before and a bright future. Melinda and Tim enjoyed some wonderful moments throughout Montana visiting Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. Besides his love of the outdoors, Tim enjoyed learning, watching "Law & Order," engaging in a challenging chess match, upgrading his home, and going to the gym. More recently, Tim enjoyed a renewed devotion to his family just returning from Colorado to visit his sister's family.

Tim will be missed as a "strong, competitive opponent across the chess board," a loving friend and family member, and a genuinely good person. Tim's love to help others has resulted in "organ gifts" to several patients in need providing an inspiration and example for all to consider.

Survivors include Melinda; Theresa and Leon; his older sister, Shelly Sones, her husband Jeremy, and their family, Janae, Trae, Tanner, and Morgan, all of Centennial, Colo.; his older brother, Robert, his wife, Sarah (Knapp), and their family Zachary, Donovan, and Dylan of Lolo; many more beloved family and friends in Montana, California, and Oregon.

Please join Tim's family and friends on Monday, April 15 at 11 a.m., as they remember his life at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Stevensville. Burial and reception will immediately follow.

Monetary donations may be directed to: Life Center Northwest, 2307 Stephens Ave. Unit B, Missoula, Montana 59801 at www.lcnw.org.
