1937-2011 STEVENSVILLE - Patricia Louise Melohn Peters was born on Oct. 11, 1937, in Oakland, Calif., and passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011, in Stevensville.

Pat married John Peters Jr. in Eureka, Calif., on April 7, 1962, celebrating his, John III and Debra Lee; hers, Jean Marie, Lisa Ann and Terri Lynn; and our, Catherine Eileen; family. The family moved to Washington state in 1967 and to Montana in October 1973.

She worked as a waitress at the Trees of Mystery, as an answering service operator and at a computer chip company. She was involved in many of her kids' activities including Boys Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and the Ballard Eagles Drill team. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, golf, fishing, camping and spending time with family.

She was adopted by Russell and Ruby Melohn and was raised by Russell and her stepmother Mildred Melohn. Later in life she discovered a whole new family after being reunited with her birth mother Jessie Clyde Beck of Payson, Ariz.; brothers, David, Jim, Floyd, Ed and Ken; and sisters Nadine and Delores.

A graduate of Eureka High School Class of 1955, she enjoyed going back to Eureka as often as possible to visit family and attend her high school reunions.

She is survived by husband John Jr.; son John III; daughter Debra (Richard) Ward, Jean (Johnny) McLeod, Lisa (David) Jette, Terri (Eric) Wood, Cathy (Joseph) Peterson; grandchildren, Jamie Langer (Kurt White), Kevin Langer, Christopher (Kristine) Legasse, Heather (Robert) Staggs, Shauna Garza, Levi (Elizabeth) Jette, Brianne (George) Kreppein, Deirdre Wood (Adam Dubose), Charlien Wood, Jessica Peterson, Amanda Peterson (Edward Holmes), and Katy (Dewey) Wolff; and several great-grandchildren; and brothers Richard (Edna) Brown, Douglas (Sharon) Melohn.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 30, at Whitesitt Funeral Home, 314 Church St., Stevensville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Aspen Hospice Charitable Foundation, 107 Bell Crossing W., Stevensville, MT 59870.
