STEVENSVILLE - Mary Patricia 'Pat' Plochowietz, 68, of Stevensville died in a tragic boating accident on the Smith River on May 16, 2011.

She was born May 16, 1943 in Butte, to Phillip Lee and Mary Patricia Killen. After high school, she attended Yakima Valley Community College.

Pat was married to her best friend Roy Plochowietz and they were blessed with 27 years of marriage. Pat was a co-owner and operator of Hy's Grocery Store in Yakima.

Pat enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, reading, going to garage sales, hiking, fishing, crocheting and rafting. She also volunteered with Aspen Hospice in Stevensville. Pat was selfless and compassionate, who had unconditional love for others. She loved waking up every morning to the picturesque landscape of the Bitterroot Mountains and a hot cup of coffee.

Survivors include her husband, Roy of the family home in Stevensville; six children, Lori Johnson of Bend, Ore., Kathy Lee of Yakima, Wash., Tim Jordan of Post Falls, Idaho, Corina Holden, Heather Hall and Brandon Plochowietz, all of Yakima, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, David Killen of Richland, Wash. and Clyde Killen of Kennewick, Wash.; a sister, Hilaire Killen of Yakima, Wash.; three cousins, Bob Counter, Bonnie Norton and Helen Caswell of course, "Annie" and Billie Anne Margard, who Pat still considered family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to, Bill Galt Aviation, Meagher County Sheriff's Office, Meagher County Search and Rescue, Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Lewis and Clark County Search and Rescue, Cascade County Sheriff's Office, Cascade County's Swift Water Rescue, Malmstrom Air Force Base and the Department of Homeland Security, the community of White Sulphur Springs and all the other volunteers.

A vigil service will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church in Stevensville. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. also at the church with Father Matthew Huber as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A reception will then be held at the church's family center. Pallbearers will be Kyle Kotlarz, Justin Lee, Randa Jordan, Cole Jordan, Kirsten Lee and Meghan Lee.

I loved your mom very much! She was always there for me to hang out with you all after school and all of you made me feel just like family. I continue to pray for overwhelming peace for all of you and your families!

Thank you for loving Pat for so many years with such an incredible love. You remain in my memories as a solid protector and gentle man.
