HAMILTON - Agnes (Carey) Bell, 95, of Hamilton, entered into rest Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, with family at her side.

She was born in Great Falls on May 25, 1916, to Loretta and Michael Carey. Agnes went through the Great Falls school system and later attended Great Falls College. She went to work for the Farm Security Administration in Kalispell, where she met Marvin Bell. They were married on June 8, 1942, in Great Falls. While Marvin was overseas in the service, Agnes worked for a time in Portland, Ore., before returning to Great Falls to work at Malmstrom Air Force Base. In 1967, Marvin and Agnes started Western Montana Real Estate, which they operated together until retiring in 1993.

Agnes helped the Countess Bessenyey with the numerous endurance rides she sponsored, and she was active in the Bitterroot Mountettes.

Survivors include son, Ron (Tanzy) Bell of Henderson, Nev.; daughter, Pat (Jim) Rouse of Chattaroy, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends.

A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at St. Mary's in Stevensville, and Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Agnes' name to the Bitter Root Land Trust.
