Delena M. Dowdy

HAMILTON - Delena Myree Goodwin Dowdy, 41, of Hamilton, passed away on May 17, 2013.

She was born July 8, 1971 in Lewiston, Idaho to Albert Eugene and Patricia Ann Goodwin. She attended Darby High School, and was a friend to many.

Delena's proudest accomplishment in life was being a mother to her five children. She also loved to paint, draw, and garden and spend time with her family and many friends.

Delena had a passion for life that goes beyond words. She had a presence that made you want to be near her. She could bring a smile to the face of all.

Delena was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Ann Goodwin, her great nephew Tucker David Smith, and several other beloved family members.

Survivors include her five children, Melissa Myree Dowdy, Annie Jane Dowdy, Thomas William Dowdy, Emily Elizabeth Dowdy, and Robert Alan Dowdy. She is also survived by her father Albert Eugene (Gene) Goodwin; brothers and sisters include Jack Goodwin, Barbara Goodwin, Dan Goodwin, John Goodwin, Chris Goodwin, Lisa Cress and Jennifer Goodwin, along with many aunts' uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Darby Clubhouse at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25.

In lieu of flowers, there is a memorial fund set up for Delena's children at the Bitterroot Community Federal Credit Union in Darby

To the whole Goodwin Family: I am so so sorry to hear of the loss of Delena. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the privilege of being in the delivery room when she gave birth to her children. It was such a joy to know her and be part of what I am sure was nothing less than a miracle as she first held her children. She will be missed greatly. God bless you all, Kerry Copps

To the Dowdy Family:
My wife and I would like to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of Delena. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. When we read Genesis 1:28 and 31, we find that sickness and death were not a part of God's original purpose. How thankful we are that our grand Creator plans to restore his original purpose and make it possible for all mankind (including loved ones we have lost in death) to live forever under perfect conditions. (Revelation 21:3-5; John 5:28,29) It is our hope that these words bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time. Once again, please accept our condolences as you deal with the loss of Delena and contemplate the hope of seeing her again.
