Missoula - Daniel H. Lee, 65, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, April 12, 2017 from natural causes in Missoula . Danny was born April 2, 1952 to Jim and Marie Lee in Missoula. He attended St. Anthony’s Elementary School and Sentinel High School, both in Missoula. Although his career took him to places such as Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming to name a few, Danny was truly a Big Sky Native! He worked as a millwright, foreman, welder and electrician. However his true passion, innovation and creativity produced Bow Tie Bumpers, Inc. which he owned and operated for the past 20 + years. He love the outdoors, helped everyone in need or not and was a true friend to many. He enjoyed summer evening rides up Lolo Creek. He’d pack up the BBQ and a steak and ride up to a spot at the bend of the creek and enjoy the evening. Danny loved ice fishing! He would usually go alone, calling when home to share his stories. One of his favorite spots was Clark Canyon. He’d stop in Jackson at the Hot Springs after a day of fishing in the cold. Fishing was good at Canyon Ferry towards Townsend as well! When family & friends visit or drive by one of Danny’s favorite places, please stop or wave and remember your own special times spent with Danny! He is survived by his father, James Lee and wife Christa Lee, Sun Lakes, Arizona; his three sisters, Debbie Steege and husband Rich, Pinedale, Wyoming; Terry Lee Kerby and husband Don, Lenore, Idaho. Beth Leonard, Spokane, Washington; several nieces and nephews; Jamie Heinz and wife Kami, Montana, Joseph Steege and Jordanne Steege, Colorado, Darryl Kerby and Morgan Kerby, Idaho, Mason Leonard, Oregon; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Twichel Lee; grandparents Mark and Helen Twichel and Ira and Stella Lee. Services will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 217 Tremont Street, Missoula, MT Friends may visit www.whitesittfuneralhme.com to share condolences and memories. I am so sorry to hear of Danny's death. I can remember the times when I would talk to my mom in her later years and she would say Danny stopped by the house to visit her or brought her flowers. Those visits really brightened her day. Danny always had a broad smile on his face and was truly one of the good guys. He will be missed. My love to all his family.

Dear sisters,
I was so sad to learn of Danny's passing. We were close in our 'youth', sharing a love of music - guitar and song. I remember when he was teaching himself to play Don Williams' song "I Believe in You". He was an appreciative audience for my singing too, and my favorite, and perhaps most fitting song for Danny was "Tumbleweed" by Sylvia. It fit him. He was a very nice person, and brought a lot of smiles to friends in the late 70's and early 80's. Unfortunately, I have not seen him for several years, but I am glad our paths crossed. I am uploading a couple of pics (hopefully). Peace.

I am so saddened by the loss of Danny. He was such a positive and wonderful guy. I will miss hearing from him. I'm glad I was able to talk to him just before his 65th birthday. I wish I could be there to see all of you, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers the day you celebrate his life and always. I love you Danny Lee❤️

I am sorry to learn of Danny's passing. I cannot stop thinking about him turning 65 and then passing away 10 days later. I remember him in high school beside a spiffed up car with a smile on his face. He was a friend to all. He was a special guy.

I was so very sad to learn of Danny's passing recently. My post is very late but I just wanted to express my condolences to the family. Danny was humble, kind, helpful, hardworking, talented at so many things, and his friends always lit up with joy when they saw him coming. I can still hear him singing Don Williams, and I can still hear him saying, "I hate to have fun!" Danny, you are my favorite memory of all. Happy heavenly birthday. May you rest in sweet peace.
