Stevensville - Ted Nelson, 88, beloved child of God was called home on September 29th , 2018, surrounded by his family in his home. Ted was born November 18, 1929 in Missoula to Ole and Emma Nelson while being raised in Polson, Mt. Proceeding in his death are his four (4) brothers; Oliver, Elmer, Ed, and John and six (6) sisters; Julia Wick, Ruth Wherley, Florence Cunningham, Pearl Emmerson, Lillian Fifield, and Bessie Bolin. While living in Dixon, Ted married Mary Lou Broderick on August 20th , 1949. While living in various cities, they raised a family of 5. During his life, Ted had a notoriety for being one of the best Montana logger, mechanic, and truck driver. God blessed Ted for having the unique talent of making something from nothing, Ted was known to help anyone who needed his talent and never expecting anything in return. Once Ted retired from Champion Corporation he found that he needed to be working. He joined his wife Mary Lou working as her right-hand man maintain the Sunnyside Cemetery. Ted also worked as a ranch hand and mechanic, for Ernie and Bessie Bolin at the Bolin Estate Ranch. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Nelson (Broderick), his 3 daughters Dianne Lewis, Missoula; Dick & Terri Wark, Seeley Lake; Tedi & Roger Wingo, Florence; his two sons, Ron Nelson, Stevensville; Greg and Sandy Nelson, Lafayette, Oregon. Through his children, Ted was blessing with 15 grand, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren Ted was a loyal member and deacon of the Jesus Christ Community Church where he devoted his life in serving his Lord God and helping countless others. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Jesus Christ Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation be made to the Jesus Christ Community Church in Ted's name.
