Florence - James Robert Pallo, 73, of Florence, MT passed away on April 29th, 2019 at the home of his eldest son in Florence MT.

James (“Jim”) was born to Robert John Pallo and Vivian Marie Green, December 20, 1945, in Watervliet, MI.  He graduated from Whitefish MT High School in 1964 where his family owned and operated a large ranch south of Whitefish (Happy Valley). He married Lorraine Petty, of Ogden Utah, in 1966, and they made a life together, in a number of places, including Kalispell Montana, Auburn California, Coos Bay Oregon, and Florence Montana.  Together they raised three children and loved and treasured their six grandchildren.

He leaves as his legacy three children: James Garrett Pallo (Rachel) of Florence, MT, James Aaron Pallo (Nicole) of Washougal WA, Heather Gomez (Karl) of Coos Bay OR.  He also leaves his six beloved grandchildren: Justin Pallo of Provo UT, Shelby Pallo of Provo UT, Jared Pallo of Florence MT, Joseph Pallo of Florence MT, Gage Pallo (Sara) of Portland OR, and Alex Pallo of Washougal WA.  He also has countless friends, loved ones, and cherished relationships with people whose life he has impacted in a positive way and who have blessed his life also.

He was preceded in death by Robert John Pallo, (Father) and Vivian Marie Pallo, (Mother).

Jim’s professional life was defined by variety as he was self-employed his entire life.  Ventures and endeavors that he took on included residential home construction (Whitefish MT, Auburn CA, Coos Bay OR), fuel and service stations (Super America and Jet Oil in Kalispell MT), restaurants (The Smorgi in Kalispell and Bozeman MT), Ice company (Glacier Ice in Kalispell MT), and other endeavors.  Jim was known for his integrity, honesty, hard work ethic, and kindness and love for his employees and staff.  Many of his former employees remained valued and loyal friends long after their working relationship ended.  Jim finally decided to retire in 2015 and move back to his beloved Montana where he and his wife, Lorraine, lived with their eldest son and his family in Florence MT.

Jim enlisted in the US Army Reserves in 1965 and served honorably for six years active duty and received an honorable discharge in 1971.

Jim was a devoted and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and he held many positions and fulfilled many responsibilities while serving in the church.  This included serving in bishoprics, as Bishop, a member of the High Council, a member of the Stake Presidency, and other callings which he put his heart and soul into.   Many still refer to him as “Bishop Pallo” as they have fond memories of the time he served in this capacity.   He loved people and they loved him.   There are few who knew him who did not consider him a friend and feel of his warmth and acceptance.

Per his wishes, a graveside service will be held at Conrad Memorial Cemetery (Lot 52, Sec E) on May 8th , 2019 at 11:30 am Mountain Standard Time.   A “Celebration of Life” party will be held at his son’s home in Florence, MT on June 29th, 2019.  It was Jim’s wish that he be remembered with fondness and happiness rather than having a sad, tearful funeral following his passing.  More information on the Celebration of Life party will be forthcoming from the family.   All of Jim’s friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration.

To the Family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that James has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to Paradise Earth just as Jehovah God has promised. In fact , the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God had intended from the beginning. God's Kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ.
