To Doris's family, especially Duffy, Jack and Jim.  It has been many years since I have seen you or your mother, but I remember living on Sunset Bench and knowing your family.  My condolences to you all on the loss of your mother. You do have many beautiful memories to keep and share with generations of family.  God Bless you all.

My condolences to the Kester family.  I am sorry I am not able to attend Doris's service and see all of you as I live in Texas.  I am grateful that I did see Doris this past year, taking my mom to see her. She was the kindest and warmest person and I know she will be missed. My prayers are with all of you.

Dear Sweet Kester Family... It's with a heavy heart that I send my condolences; not due to Dori's passing like you may think, as I KNOW she is dancing and fishing in Heaven with the Angels... but, of missed opportunities to visit with her these past couple of years.  After our phone conversations, I knew she cared for us and held so much of my Grandma, Mazie Lovinger & my Mom, Helen Baskett Murdoch's history in her heart.  God Bless Doris and your loving and dutiful son's & daughter.  Jim, you gave her great peace and assurance that she would not go through this alone.  Love Kathy Spellman

Duffy, what a wonderful life for a great lady.  Regretfully, we will be unable to attend the celebration of your mothers's life, as Sharon is unable to travel and I am fulfilling the roll of caregiver.

To all of the Kester clan, we are so sorry for your loss. At this end of the state we have only wonderful memories of a grand lady, pulling taffy, popcorn balls, such an infectious laugh and warm genuine smile and most of my memories occurred prior to being 10 years old.  She and our mom, Joyce enjoyed a friendship that the miles could not change and visits and phone conversations just picked up where the last left off.  Please know we are thinking of you and find it fitting you celebrate this woman's life on New Year's Eve.  Do take care.

I have known Doris Kester for over 50 years. She was always so special to me. Sitting on her back porch talking and looking at St. Mary's mountain was better than spending time with a shrink. Doris could whip up a lovely meal in no time and you were always welcome even if you didn't call first. Heaven has gained a wonderful lady. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Kester Family,
We were saddened to hear that Doris had passed away.  I always looked forward to seeing Doris growing up and working for Duffy.  She always was very easy to visit with and had great stories to tell about being in the Bitterroot Valley and our families.  I remember seeing her head up the Burnt Fork to go fishing and visit with  who ever would stop and hang out with her.  Mom and dad always enjoyed the opportunity to see Doris and visit with her for hours.
When I was working for Duffy with the glamorous job of cleaning hog pens, Doris usually had lunch ready for Duffy, Cody and myself.  Even with our fine odor, she was always excited to see us and had something great to eat.  She always had some wisdom to share with us as we ate whether it be on history of people in the valley or how to deal with people.  She was a strong lady and was very loving and has a great legacy to follow her.  She is now in a great place  and in the hands of the Lord.  I know that we are so much better for having the chance to know Doris Kester.

Doris was such a bright star of Stevi.  We were lucky to meet her shortly after moving to Stevensville.  We enjoyed her twinkle, her amazing knowledge of the area, and being able to see her at school.  (Dale always ate lunch at the school in the 40+ years he worked there.)  We were one of the lucky ones to have known her all these years!.......Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
