OGDEN, Utah - After a lengthy and courageous fight, Maggie Ann (McNinch) McKee, 58, finally entered into eternal rest in the presence of her loving children on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, in Ogden, Utah. She was born into this life on June 13, 1954, in Dillon to Ted and Joan McNinch. Maggie spent most of her childhood on a ranch up Bass Creek Road near Stevensville. She graduated from Stevensville High School in 1972 and later attained her nursing degree from Flathead Community College.

Her choice to pursue a career in nursing epitomized the type of person she was - a caregiver. Through her work in hospitals, nursing homes and home health care, Maggie found her greatest fulfillment in caring for those who needed it most. Even in the midst of her own deteriorating health, she continued to give of herself in thinking of others first.

Her greatest quality as a caregiver was her ability to relate to and connect with patients on a personal level, being more of a friend than a nurse. As a mother, these same attributes were easily experienced as maintaining a meaningful friendship with each of her four children, which was her greatest parental desire. Whether it was attending sporting events, going to concerts or helping her kids through a difficult season of life, she was a friend first.

When asked what she desired her grandkids to remember about her, she simply said one thing - laughter. When her family was together, laughter was ever present.

Maggie is survived by her parents, Ted and Joan; her brother, Jim (Kari); her children, Nathan (Rori), Kelly (Colin), Alison (Dave) and Darren (Kirsten); her nephews, Craig and Brad; her grandchildren, Chance, Natalie, Emily, Andrew, Lucas and Maxwell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 8, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Whitesitt Funeral Home. A celebration of Maggie's life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Stevensville United Methodist Church.

Kelly and Nathan,
I am so sorry to hear of Maggie's passing. She was always so very cheerful whenever we ran into each other and wanting to know all about what my kids were doing, but so ready to talk about you two. I am sure in her years of nursing she touched many lives and will be missed by many. Condolences to all of your family. Bless you two. Patricia Powell
