STEVENSVILLE - Joyce M. Hudson, 80, of Stevensville, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at her home.

On Dec. 10, 1953, she married Gerald Hudson in Missoula at her Aunt Ira Kopelman's home. The couple lived in Missoula for about a year before moving to Iowa. After experiencing her first tornado, Joyce moved the family back to Missoula where they lived until moving to Stevensville in 1977.

Joyce worked as a bookkeeper for most of her life. She spent her free time gardening.

She is survived by her husband Jerry; daughter Sue Anders; three sons, Larry, Don and Jim; brother Tom Flink; sister Kathy Clark; three granddaughters; and four grandsons.

A memorial service will be held mid-June in the Stevensville area. Burial will be at the Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery.

We are so very sorry about your loss. What can I say about Joyce, she was a very loving and caring person, who we loved being related to by marriage. Her and Jerry took the place of my grandparents when mine passed. Joyce knew me since I was born (22 yrs. ago) and I will always consider her to be like a grandmother to me. We all love her and will miss her very much. She may have just been related by marriage, but my parents and I always thought of her as close family. I will miss her a lot.
