Stevensville - Gayle E. Hill of Stevensville and Bouse, AZ, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013 of breast cancer. She was born May 25, 1938 in Hamilton to Elmo and Hazel Hess and raised in Corvallis. On July 30, 1954 she married David Hill of Darby. They lived in Thompson Falls, Missoula and Florence. They retired to Bouse, AZ in 1995 and returned to the Bitterroot in 2010, making Stevensville their home. She is survived by her husband David; mother, Hazel Hess of Butte; children, Larry of Spokane, WA, Gayla (Rick) Sweeney of Henderson, NV and Jana of Spokane, WA; sisters, Elayne Dunbar of Butte and Joan Clack of Hamilton; grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsey, Zachary and Charlie; 3 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Corvallis Cemetery. A reception will follow at the family home in Stevensville. The family suggests memorials to the Stevensville Senior Center or Aspen Hospice in lieu of flowers.

Although we didn't know Gayle well, we were able to enjoy her smiles often. We find it comforting to have such a nice family living right up the street from us. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
