Stevensville - Tyler Daniel Hennes, 18, passed awy on October 11, 2014 peacefully at his home after a heroic 4½ year battle with osteosarcoma. Tyler was born on August 7, 1996 in Missoula to Josh and Jenny (Heikkila) Hennes. Tyler was known for his dry intelligent humor that kept everyone laughing, even in the toughtes times. He was a loving son, brother and friend who truly cared about the well-being of his friends and family. Even in his last days, his main concern was for others. In June of 2010, Tyler was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The following 4½ years were filled with 3 different courses of chemotherapy, 8 surgeries, 2 courses of radiation and incomparable pain and suffering. While difficult to experience and heart wrenching to observe, these negative events were countered by immeasurable love, deepened personal relationships and peace enduring spiritual growth. Tyler is survived by his parents, Josh and Jenny Hennes; his brothers, Troy and Treyton; his paternal grandparents, Randy and Dyane Hennes of Huson, Jon Tompkins and Debra Howell od Polson; maternal grandparents, Jack Heikkila of Belt and Denise Heikkila of Bonner; aunt, Davida (Jason) Vangen and uncle Ian (Rachelle) Heikkila as well as 3 cousins. Tyler was preceded in death by his grandmother Patricia Heikkila. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at the Stevensville High School Gym. A reception will follow at the same location.

We send our heart felt condolences to your family on the loss of your wonderful son Tyler. He went through so much as did your whole family. The only comfort is knowing he's no longer in pain. Please know you are in our Prayers.
Josh, I believe you may know our son Kevin Clark. He went to Frenchtown School starting in third grade. We lived up Nine mile.

My condolences to all the family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I visited you great grandparents, Alois and Bonnie, this summer and they told us of Tyler's illness and bragged about what a strong young man he was. God Bless.
