Stevensville - Catherine Knuepel, 57, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at her home in Stevensville of natural causes. Catherine was born and raised on a large dairy ranch near Reno, NV. After graduation, she traveled and lived in cities such as San Francisco, Carmel and Los Angeles. Soon her longing for the rural ranch life was so strong she relocated to Alturas, CA and lived and enjoyed the ranch life that she so longed for while running a successful painting and decorating firm. Finally her travels brought her to Montana where she enjoyed horseback riding, hiking and all of the other wonders the Stevensville area has to offer. Along with one of her simple pleasures…..taking her shoes off and dipping her bare feet into the nearest river she ran upon during her travels. She was preceded in death by her father Alvin B. Silva. Survivors include her mother, Sharon, step-father, Frank, brothers, Paul, Rick, Michael, James and Steven, her partner and companion, Don. Cathy lived a life full of liveliness, spontaneity and joy, she will be truly missed. A memorial to celebrate Cathy’s life will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dayspring Foursquare Church, 185 Westgate Way in Florence. The family suggests that any memorial donations may be made in Cathy’s name to a humane society of the donor’s choice.

Sending our love and deepest sympathy to Don and Cathy's family. When I met Cathy she was instantly a friend, it was like talking and visiting with someone you had known for years. Cathy enjoyed everything about life and I know her time with Don made her very happy! Let the good memories be held close to your heart and carry you through this sad time. Those memories made together will be with you always and forever. Love Wayne and Kathy
