Highland, CA - Harold Leroy Haddock, “Hal,” 86, of Highland, California, died at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Loma Linda, California on September 10, 2020. He was born on November 8,1933 in Denair, California, to Charles and Opal Haddock. In 1950, during the Korean conflict, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Hornet and the U.S.S. Wasp aircraft carriers as a clerk in the ship’s store and sailed around the world. He returned to Stockton, California, where he met and married Beverly Ann Albert on August 17, 1956. Hal started working at National Cash Register in Stockton and Modesto, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and finally San Bernardino, California, where he ended his career as Service Manager after 40 years. At retirement, Hal and Beverly moved to Corvallis, Montana where they built a beautiful home in the woods. Harold and Beverly were married for 51 years before she passed away in 2008. He later married Karen “Monteene” Hastain in December, 2009. They moved back to Highland, California in 2018. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Charles Haddock, his wife Beverly, his son, Randall, and his brothers, Dwayne (Bertha), Charles, Richard (Shirley), Michael, and Dana Haddock. Harold is survived by his wife, Monteene; his children: Teresa (Mike) Waleszonia, Kathleen (Craig) Miller, Bryan (Jennifer) Haddock; his seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Cesar) Lopez, Keith Waleszonia, Rebekah (Robert) Macleod, Christine (David) Hardt, Nathan (Melanie) Miller, Kyle (Brianne) Haddock, Lauren Haddock; his seven great grandchildren: Noah Lopez, Ava Lopez, Grace Waleszonia, Landen Adachi, Charles Macleod, Eilih Macleod, and Avery Hardt; and his two sisters-in-law, Bertha Haddock and Shirley Haddock. But he was best known as a man who had experienced the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, who changed him and gave him the hope of eternal life, which his family knows is just beginning for him. He was an active member and leader at First Baptist Church of San Bernardino, and later at Cornerstone Bible Church in Hamilton, Montana.
