I was so sorry to hear of Jesse’s accident. Please know you were in my prayers. Words cannot begin to express your loss I know. I remember reading something once about a woman losing a husband being a widow and a husband losing a wife being a widower. A child who loses a parent is an orphan. But there is no word for losing a child because it’s such a great loss. Blessings to your sweet family! Lois Horsens

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sims Family, Jace and her family and the young athletes in which Jesse was training and mentoring. Such an outstanding young man. May god wrap his arms around all of you and give you strength.

My deepest condolence to Jesse’s family. Back when Jesse was a Freshman & Sophomore at Stevi, my husband “Coach Bob” had nothing but praise for this young man. His work ethic, love of the game, respect for coaches and fellow players were above board. His “time” came much to soon. I like to think Coach Bob greeted Jesse with open arms at Heaven’s gate.

I didn't know your son, but as with all Griz he was "one of our boys". My heart aches for all of you. Please know you are in our prayers and he will not be forgotten.

I knew You only from the “37” jersey you wore,
The tackles You made, and the action replays.
But your wearing of number “37”
Was an honor YOU famed.
The D line, behind and beside You,
With their helmets held high,
Share with the O Llne & coaches,
And so now, we ask for “SYMPATHY”
For Jace, whom Jess adored,
And for the families of both.
And in your hearts please know,
“ football in Heaven”
Has only One Loving Referee and no penalties.

I remember the first time meeting this fine young man. It was at the fields in Corvallis and little league football. Jesse and my boy, Seth, were on the same team, as well as being coached by Mr. Sims.
Jesse worked hard to be good at the sport, and was known for his outstanding demeanor.
Later, my younger son, Nathaniel would have a chance to have football practices with Jesse, and then be at the U of M at the same time. Nathaniel was always saying that Jesse was an excellent guy and always nice to everyone.
Jesse will always be more than a kid everyone knew that played football. He will always be the guy that everyone who met him was impressed at his humanity, and he will be the guy that, those who didn't meet him, missed out on one of the good ones.
My condolences to all of his family, loved ones, and friends. God Bless.

I cannot find the words to say how saddened I am about Jesse passing away. He was a true role model and was looked up to by many. I wish I could have met him personally even though I went to school with him and Jace. My heart goes out to his family and fiancé. Just know that he loves you guys and he will always be with you and protecting you no matter what and when it comes to meeting him again, he will be there to greet you guys with open arms. We all love you Jesse and we are all so proud of you. #RIP37

Our prayers to you in the loss of Jesse. Our grandson played football in high school with him for a short time. Our grandson was very small for his age but he would always come home and say Jesse always encouraged him. I didn't know Jesse real well like some others however the impact he made on so many lives lives on.
