Stevensville - Aldon “Tex” C. Gaswint, 77, of Stevensville, MT passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at home. He was born June 23, 1945, in Stockton, CA, the son of the late Albert C. Gaswint and Esther F. (Bachert) Gaswint. Tex was raised in Washington State and went to school in Bothell, WA. At the age of sixteen he became a part of the Flooring Union of Montana. This allowed him to begin his flooring career in Washington. Tex moved to Kila, MT in 1969, where he continued his flooring business. In February of 1970, he met his future wife, Carollee Montague, at a pet shop in Kalispell, MT. They were married on March 27, 1970, in Bonners Ferry, ID. Tex and Carollee would go on to have four children: sons Troy and Todd, and daughters Tana and Tara. When not working, Tex could be found spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, boating, and camping. Tex always supported all his children’s sporting events by either coaching or cheering from the sidelines. Tex and his family enjoyed spending time together doing everything they could in the beautiful mountains, lakes, and rivers of Montana. Tex is proceeded in death by his father, mother and twelves brothers and sisters. The youngest of thirteen, Tex had a life full of family, love, and joy. His family would often have family reunions all over the Northwest, where they would spend time together. Tex is survived by his four children: Troy of Stevensville, MT, Tana of Austin, TX, Todd of Watford City, ND, and Tara of Billings, MT; and his four grandchildren: Austin of Watford City, ND, Paige of Butte, MT, Aurora of Billings, MT, and Orion of Billings, MT. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Tex on Saturday August 5, 2023, in Billings, MT, at the Dan Walt Gardens (located at 720 Washing Street). The celebration will be held from 11am to 3pm. We would like to invite all family and friends to join us in food, conversation, and the celebration of the life of our father and grandfather.
