Beverly Jean (Stimpson) French

Stevensville - Beverly Jean French, 93, passed away at her home in Stevensville, Montana on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Beverly Jean Stimpson French was born on April 13, 1931 in Charles Mix County, South Dakota Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Elizabeth, siblings Doris, Richard, Kenneth, Rochelle, Betty and Vickie, three of her six children Jay (1984), Judith (2016) and Patricia (2019). Beverly is survived by her brother Edward Jr., children Michael (Becky) French of California, Jolene (Gene) Cordova of California, and Rodney French of Montana. Beverly, also known as Nanny to her surviving 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, will be remembered for her small stature, kind nature and empathy for the generations she had the privilege to experience within her lifetime. She was also a very prominent part of the lives of her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, throughout the US and Canada. Beverly grew up in South Dakota, she had three siblings between her mother and father and later her father remarried (Rachel) and added an additional four siblings to their family. Throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s, Beverly, her then husband James “Jim” French and children traveled between South Dakota and California, later relocating full-time to Pasadena, California. Beverly moved to Stevensville, Montana in the mid-90’s after retiring from Kaiser Permanente as a Nurse for many decades. She learned to fly a Cessna plane, obtained her pilot's license and made many trips between California and Montana with her travel companion Cuddles who rarely left her side. Beverly loved animals and shared her home with many throughout her lifetime. Beverly’s three surviving children and their families would like to thank everyone for their care and condolences at this time. Services will be held Monday, March 24, 2025 at Noon at Whitesitt Funeral Home. An interment will follow the service at Riverside cemetery also in Stevensville, MT. After the interment there will be a luncheon held at the old church of the Nazarene's fellowship hall located at 803 5th Ave. in Victor, MT.
