Carol Omlid Obituary

Stevensville - Carol passed away May 20th at her home in Stevensville 2 days after her 80th birthday, surrounded by her family. She was born in Denver, CO to her parents William C. Cagle and Sue V. Cagle.

She is survived by her husband Orlin, 5 children Donna (Fred), Cody (Tonia), Kristin; Luke (Jamie) and Aaron (Mindy); 9 grandchildren Amber, Alexa, Jace, Hunter, Bridger, Isaac, Avery, Henry and Brooklynn and great-grandson Draco. Also, Carol’s extended grandchildren Tia, Junior and Kestin.

Carol worked as a checker at the old Bi-Lo grocery for 20 years. Her best friends were people she worked with over the years. She loved to talk to her customers she waited on and met many friends that way.

Carol was very creative and artistic with many wood projects using old rusty metal objects she found at the scrap yards or at antique shops. She also designed and sewed many baby blankets for her grandchildren.

Carol loved life and all things it offered. She wanted to experience anything new. Her favorite fun, was to go to Las Vegas and play the slots with a cup of coffee or a margarita with a Pall Mall.

Carol always stressed if you have the time and money to have fun DO IT. With all of lifes ups and downs Carol always stated “IT IS WHAT IT IS.”

Remember to enjoy every moment life has to offer and just do what you want to do. Life passes quicker than you think.

The family would like to thank the people at hospice for their exceptional care, especially Carol’s primary nurse and friend Dru.

Carols passing leaves such a gigantic hole that can never be filled to the ones that knew her. She will be extremely missed beyond words. Rest in peace Carol.

Private family services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Carol's name to the Bitterroot Humane Association (262 Fairgrounds Rd, Hamilton, MT  59840).  Arrangements are under the care of Whitesitt Funeral Home.
