Florence - Creighton Brown Sayles, 88, passed away in the company of family on Sunday, May 23, 2021. He was born in Austin, Minnesota on October 17, 1932 to William and Dorothy (Snell) Sayles. Later, Creighton went to Macalester College where he met the love of his life, Marcia Mae. They were married on June 2, 1952. They settled in Mandan, North Dakota and started their family. Both of them took over the family printing business and dad also was a volunteer fire fighter. Their love of Montana drew them to Missoula in 1969. He was thrilled to begin his career with Missoula Rural Fire. Many years later he transitioned to his own private fire investigator business, Eagle Investigation. Dad was a talented and compassionate man. He was a skilled artist and excelled at carving, especially carousel horses. He was a MacGyver who had a passion for fixing and restoring anything. He implemented the Fire Hawk Program for juvenile fire setters in Missoula, involved with Carpenters for Christ, taught wood carving for Scouts and donated much of his time to the community. Dad’s prayers are now answered and he has joined mom in heaven. He is survived by his three children Tim, Tara and Twyla along with their families. A memorial service will be held in Creighton’s honor at the Florence Carlton Community Church on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
