Dwane Clarke Obituary

Victor - Dwane Dowd Clarke, 91, passed away August 21, 2021 at his Victor, MT home. He was born February 7, 1930 in Missoula, MT, the only child of Bryan Jennings and Mayme Dowd Clarke. Dwane was raised in Victor . He was a Boy Scout and Scout Master learning to develop and print film that won photography awar ds. In his senior year, he trained as a railroad telegrapher at the Victor Depot. He graduated from Victor High School in 1948 and worked for the Northern Pacific Railway. January 1949, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His service was cut short when his father passed away and his mother ne. eded his help, so at her request, he was honorably discharged July 1949. He worked at the family sawmill briefly and resumed his telegraphy job that Fall. Dwane married Joy Brown at her family home in Victor on December 25, 1949. They had three children. Approximately 1951 he started driving truck hauling a variety of goods. In 1972, he added a garbage service to his business. Dwane is survived by wife Joy of Victor; daughter Debbie and husband Gary Pederslie of Redmond, WA; two sons, Rodney and wife Debbie and Edward and wife Theresa Clarke, all of Victor; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins . Graveside services will be held at the Victor Cemetery on August 28, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. MDT, followed by a reception at Hamilton House on Main St r eet, Victor .
