Euleta Zundel Obituary

Stevensville - Euleta Jensen Zundel, age 96, passed away on November 3rd, 2023, with her daughter at her side. Euleta Jensen was born 7 February 1927 in Richfield Utah to Alexander Jensen and Lilly May Harmon. Euleta had one sister, Melba Neal, a half-sister, Darlene Barlow, and 2 brothers that died at birth. She had a sister, Mary Buela, that lived 26 hours before passing away. Her mom passed away in 1942 from Breast Cancer. Her father remarried 3 ½ years later to Mable Barlow in October 1945. Euleta graduated from High School and then went to Idaho State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching. She taught school until 1949 when she was called to serve in the Spanish American Mission from June 1949 to 1951. Euleta and Voyd had met before he was called to serve in the military while at Idaho State University After graduating, Euleta taught for 1 ½ years in (Morland/) Idaho. During this time is when Voyd was serving his mission in the Netherlands as well as serving in WWII. After Voyd returned from his mission, they were married on the 21st of March 1952 in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for time and all eternity. They lived in Idaho until March of 1956 when they moved to Corvallis, Montana to a small farm. She and dad moved a few times buying a 60-acre farm on the west side of the Bitterroot Valley where they had several livestock, including cows, pigs, chickens, lots of cats and dogs. It was in 1963 that her father passed away. Euleta was good at quilting and shared many handmade quilts and other handmade items with her family and friends. She learned growing up how to can fresh fruits and vegetables out of the garden and cook. Working with Voyd as the Zundel Roof Tile Company kept both very busy and helped the kids learn about working. She worked hard throughout her life and tried to instill this in her children. Euleta was preceded in death by her parents Alexander and Lily Mae Jensen, her sister Melba (Gerald) Neal, Darlene Barlow, her husband Voyd Lewis Zundel. She is survived by her three children, Randy Zundel, Cindy (Lance) Hagen, and Rick Zundel. She has 2 Grandchildren, Rachael Hagen, and Lake Hagen. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Whitesitt Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery following the service.
