Glenn Schaub Obituary

Stevensville - Glenn Francis Schaub, 65, passed away December 29,2024 in Stevensville, Montana. He was born July 17,1959 in Glasgow, Montana, the son of Donald and Rose (Kearney) Schaub. His early life was spent in Missoula until his parents bought their home on Three Mile Creek in Stevensville in 1965. He attended school in Stevensville and enjoyed boxing, wrestling, football and track. For a short time, he played drums and performed the solo of "Wipe Out" to perfection at a school concert. He and his brother Phil were "Irish Twins", born 10 1/2 months apart. They were best friends and partners in crime from the start. Together they loved playing pranks on anyone they could. Due to his quiet, introverted nature, Glenn was nicknamed “Caveman” by his close friends in high school. He graduated in 1977 and went on to become a journeyman pipefitter/welder in Local 459 working in various states and making many friends along the way. In September 1981 Glenn married Susan Ogle. They had one son, Peter, who was born on August 12, 1984. They would later divorce.

We have many cherished memories of Glenn that will always be near and dear to our hearts. He loved hunting, fishing and camping (and yes-leaving a sleeping bag too close to the fire once. (just once). He perfected the recipe for blonde brownies, baking many batches in the summer of 1973. Glenn enjoyed eating frozen cream and pumpkin pies and watching SNL and Pink Panther movies. He was a master at kicking our butts in Monopoly till our dad told us to go to bed. He was notorious for owning all the properties and winning the game. Glenn loved lighting off fireworks. One summer he lit some old fireworks that shot everywhere and anywhere, much to the delight and horror of his sisters and their children - forever naming them, "Uncle Glenn’s Fireworks".

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Philip and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his son Peter (Cathy and sons Jarod and Arik) Billings; sisters Diane Schaub Reno, Nevada; Lynn Ogle (Mike) Missoula, Montana; Shelly Batey (Dee) Belgrade, Montana; and Nancy Sandoval (Steve) Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Glenn’s sisters would like to thank Robert Spang for being there for Glenn on the morning of December 29. Robert was a good friend and brother to Glenn.

A celebration of Glenn’s life will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Stevensville, Montana. Details about the service will be posted at a later date.

We will miss his funny sarcastic humor, his contagious laughter, his spirit of generosity and the deep, quiet love he had for his family and friends. God Speed Brother and save us a seat! We love you. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
