Stevensville - Henry Herman Holberg, 91, passed away at his home in Stevensville on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 surrounded by family. Henry was born in Hydesville, California on September 16, 1931 to Andrew and Silvia (Lewis) Holberg. He graduated from the 8th grade in 1946 and later finished high school on June 9, 1950. He started in the logging industry in Fortuna, CA in 1949-1950. Later he entered the U.S. Navy on October 19, 1950. He achieved the level of Seaman in 1951, went to Diesel Engine School and was a Gunner Mate III, vol. I before leaving the military on May 2, 1952. Henry started working at Overnite Saw Service in 1961 in San Francisco. In 1964 Henry moved his family to Sacramento, CA when he purchased Nobile Saw Works. He ran a successful business for over 50 years with his wife by his side. Henry also enjoyed fishing, hunting gardening, camping, building koi ponds and raising koi, Abalone diving and surf fishing. In his life, he was part of the Carpenters Union. Henry is preceded by his wife of 67 years, Ruth A. (Johnson) Holberg; his father and mother; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Oscar and Nettie Johnson of Sacramento, CA and 12 siblings. He is survived by son Henry O. Holberg of Sacramento, CA; daughter Kim A. (Dwayne) Gibson of Stevensville, MT; grandson’s Shane L. (Alexis) Woodward of Olivehurst, CA and Cody H. Woodward of Stevensville, MT; 3 great-grandchildren Belle Woodward, Tank Woodward and Diesel Woodward of Olivehurst, CA. Services to be held on August 4, 2023 at 11:00A.M.
