James Robinson Obituary

Missoula - James "Jim" Joe Robinson was involved in a home accident and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 22, 2021. Jim was a husband, father, friend and a genuinely good person to all who were fortunate to know him. He was born April 30, 1954 in Livingston, Montana to Eleanor and Clayton Robinson. After high school in Bozeman, he met and married the love of his life, Theresa Younger. They were the proud parents of Michael in 1978 and then relocated to Missoula where their sweet daughter Marisa was born in 1980. They raised Michael and Marisa in Missoula and accepted and loved many of their friends as family. Jim worked in the diesel mechanic industry as well as in construction. He was a man of many skills and known as a MacGyver. He could fix, build and create just about anything. Over the years Jim met girlfriend, Kelly Elam, and they shared many good times together. Jim dearly cherished his family, took care of them and was dad to many others. Known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, he taught them to always savor life as it comes along. Friends and family loved his spirit of adventure and spontaneous ideas. Spending time in his garage, tinkering on things, working on cars and fixing stuff were things he thoroughly enjoyed. He also had fun snowmobiling, dirt biking and spending time at the lake. There are too many good times with family and friends to count as he truly loved and lived life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa, and parents Eleanor and Clayton. Jim is survived by his loving children, Michael and Marisa (Dusty), grandchildren Kelsey, Cody, Logan, and Haley, and great grandchild Mila with another on the way. He is also survived by girlfriend Kelly, her son, Jake (Ayla) and Jake’s son Jesse, brothers Dean (Marcia), Larry (Carolyn), and Darrell (Heidi) all from Bozeman, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and the entire Younger family. He will also be missed by his loyal dog Bandit. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
