Joyce Ann (Nitzsche) Weldy

Joyce Ann (Nitzsche) Weldy, 75, of Stevensville, Montana, went to be with Jesus on June 7th, 2026. 

Born July 12, 1950 and raised on a farm in West Point, Nebraska, much of her childhood consisted of making special memories with her siblings, including plenty of rivalry, laughter and bike rides to the one-room school house. Her family connections run deep.

In 1970, Joyce married the love of her life, Fred Weldy. Their marriage was a gift from the Lord; the kind that everyone hopes for. In July of 2026, they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage commitment to one another. 

Joyce and Fred raised a son and daughter, making many memories in the woods on Fred’s logging jobs and other outdoor adventures. Spending time with her children and their families was one of Joyce’s greatest joys. 

Joyce had a way of making people feel special and seen, whether they were her family and friends, a cashier, or a medical professional. Her welcoming smile put others at ease and she was so easy to talk to. She enjoyed red roses, sitting with her husband on the porch listening to the creek and watching birds and wildlife, chatting with friends, and popcorn. She celebrated joys in the lives of ‘her people’ in a big way. Her hugs were epic. 

While Joyce will be missed deeply by her family and friends, we are so grateful that she is released from her many years of physical trials and a weary body. We know her citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20) and we do not grieve as those who have no hope (I Thessalonians 4:13). We have the beautiful hope of eternity, and we who know Jesus as Lord will spend eternity together with her and our Savior on a new earth. What inexpressible joy!

A time of remembrance of Joyce’s life will take place Monday, July 6th at 3pm at Lone Rock Bible Church, Stevensville, Montana. All are welcome to attend the service and a time of connecting over a meal afterward.
