Marilyn Patricia (Mikesell) Schultz

July 16, 1939 ~ January 26, 2022 (age 82)

Florence - Marilyn Patricia Schultz (82) went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2022. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born July 16, 1939 in Kalispell, MT to William and Lillian Mikesell. During Marilyn’s early years she attended elementary and high school in Kalispell. In 1956 she met and married the love of her life Herman H. Schultz. During their 51 years of marriage, Herman and Marilyn traveled and lived several places in Montana following Herman’s construction jobs. They finally settled in the Bitterroot Valley and called it their home till Herman’s passing in 2007 and Marilyn in 2022. During their travels they had 3 children, Brad, Kevin and Kelsey. Marilyn’s focus in life was always God and her family. She worked several jobs in the food service industry at the University of Montana, Sentinel HS, as a deli manager at the Florence IGA and working at the Florence Christian Academy. However, her first and most cherished job was always being a mother and wife. Soon, grandkids came along and nothing filled her heart more than spending time with family, be it a picnic, camping, watching kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events, or other family activities. During her final days Marilyn chose home over a hospital, where she could be surrounded by her family till she entered her heavenly home. Marilyn found the Lord in her late twenties and from that day devoted her life to Him. She was a charter member of Florence Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, Junior Church, helped in the kitchen and any other event the church participated in for 47 years. Her love for God and the life she lived was a testimony of faith and kindness to all who crossed her path. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman, parents, brother Kenny and wife Mary Mikesell, sister Jean and husband Don Roedel, son-in-law Jon Beckett and great granddaughter Harper Rae Schultz. She is survived by her son Brad (Tammy) of Stevensville MT, Kevin (Jennifer) of Stevensville MT, daughter Kelsey Beckett of Florence MT. Grandchildren Nate (Shelby), Jeremy (Lindsey), David (Heather), Eric (Stephanie), Karra (Chris), Josh (Shelby), Jared (Sheridan), Christopher (Haley), Blakele, Baylee and Christopher. Great Grandchildren Ayla, Bryson, Makoah, Emma, Leiah, Charlotte, Jocelyn, Emory, Benton and Elias and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Florence Baptist Church with reception following in the fellowship hall.
