Mary Nelson Obituary

Stevensville - Mary Lou Nelson was given her well-earned angel wings on April 24th, 2022, while at her home in Stevensville, MT. She will be eagerly embraced by her husband, our dad Ted and her daughter, our sister Tedi and her youngest brother, Joe Wulfekuhle. Mary Lou was 88 years old. Mom’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her and her love for the Lord understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time had she remained here. Mom was talented in so many aspects of her life. She was a genius with her ability to decorate and her knowledge of plants and flowers and her devotion to God was amazing. Mom was also an amazing baker/home maker, an expert seamstress, upholsterer, and a small business owner. Aside from that, mom found comfort playing games on her phone, arts and crafts, her award-winning yard, and snuggling up on the couch watching movies. Most importantly, Mom was a terrific mom. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were her life. There was never a day that went by that she did not brag about all her beautiful babies. Preceding her passing is her husband Ted Nelson, daughter Tedi Wingo, brother Joe and sister-in-law Shirley Johnson. Mom is survived by her daughters Diane Lewis and family, Teri and son-in-law Dick Wark and family, sons, Ron Nelson and family, Greg and daughter in-law, Sandy Nelson and family, her son in-law Roger Wingo and family as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and acquaintances. We had a wonderful mother and that is the way it will forever be. She was one who never really grew old; her smiles were made of sunshine, and her heart was of solid gold. Her eyes were as bright as shining stars and her cheeks of fair roses. Take heed because she is keeping an eye upon us all, so let us make sure that she will like what she sees. There will be a celebration of life on May 7th at 1:00pm at Mom’s lifelong church, Jesus Community Church, in Stevensville, Mt. Following the services, there will be a luncheon hosted by the lovely ladies of the church, after which there will be a private family burial of both Mom and Dad's ashes at the Sunnyside Cemetery. Family requests that all donations go to the church to help defray the costs of this funeral and for their continued efforts in spreading God’s word. She had a special message to her dear friends Vivian Depee and Joan Oliver: “Viv and Joan we all will be waiting for you.” Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
