Missoula - With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Nataley Grace Koerner. She was born on May 11, 2006, at Community Medical Center in Missoula, Montana, to Joshua Koerner and Courtney Buhler. On Friday, January 24, 2025, at just 18 years old, she left us after a lifelong struggle with Type 1 Diabetes.
From an early age, Nataley faced her challenges with resilience and strength. At age six, she moved from Hawaii to Montana to live with her father, Josh, and his wife, Tami. Although her mother, Courtney, stayed living in Hawaii, Nataley’s love for her remained unwavering. She always held onto hope for their reunion, cherishing the bond they shared.
Nataley’s radiant smile and boundless kindness lit up every room she entered. She had a rare gift for connecting with people and making friends wherever she went. Her warmth, compassion, and openness touched the lives of so many.
She was incredibly proud of completing the Montana Youth Challenge program, a milestone that reflected her perseverance and determination. She was also an active member of the Montana Youth Diabetes Alliance, where she found support and connection with others who shared similar experiences. She found great joy in cheerleading, where her enthusiasm and positive spirit inspired those around her. Nataley cherished the friendships she made along the way. With big dreams for the future, she looked forward to new opportunities and personal growth, but heartbreakingly, her journey ended too soon.
Those who will deeply miss Nataley and share in our sorrow include her six siblings: Monica, Jonas, Michaela, Cadence, Silas, and Gavin. She is also cherished by her grandparents—Corine Carson, Keith Koerner, and Kristine and Kevin Peterson—along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Nataley was preceded in death by her uncles Zack and Shua, her grandmother Rita, and her great-grandparents Leah and Ellis Buhler.
Though our hearts ache with this immense loss, we take comfort in the love and memories she leaves behind. A memorial service will be held at ZooTown Church on Saturday, February 1st, at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to join us as we celebrate Nataley’s life, share memories, and honor the beautiful soul she was.
Rest peacefully, sweet Nataley. You are forever loved, always remembered, and endlessly missed.
