Pamela Essary Obituary

Stevensville  -  Pam passed away January 17, 2022 with her husband by her side at her home in Stevensville, MT of natural causes. Pam was the seventh of eight children born to Tony and Verda Alex in Havre, MT. Pam lived there until she married Ben Essary; together they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on January 11th. Pam was a great supporter of her husband Ben, especially during his 22 year Air Force career and 16 year career working in industry. Over the course of many moves, she always ensured that the new house was home. Pam worked as a medical practice administrator and got great satisfaction from getting to know and helping patients and managing an efficient practice. In 1998, Pam and Ben retired and returned to Montana. She volunteered at Pantry Partners Food Bank in Stevensville, served on the board of directors and was instrumental in securing funding for its expansion to its current location. Pam was devoted to and a great champion for her children and grandchildren. She was well loved by all members of the family, and leaves behind many friends whom she loved. Pam is survived by her husband Ben Essary, and her children Lisa (Mike) Wineke, of Boise ID and William Glen Essary of Spokane WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joe (Samantha) Wineke of Juneau, AK; Beth Wineke of Boise, ID, Iva Essary of Spokane, WA, James (Marlene) Armstrong and great grandson Lucas of Castle Rock, CO. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl (Bob) Evans and brother John Alex. She is also survived by a wide circle of friends from across the country. She was especially close with the Havre Queens, a group of women who Pam grew up with in Havre. They have maintained friendships since they were kids. They reunited about every other year at locations around the country. The last reunion was held in Great Falls, MT in September 2021. I won’t name all the Queens here but you know who you are. She was preceded in death by her parents Tony and Verda Alex; brothers Ed, Dennis, and Tom Alex; sister Marilyn Lang; and grandson William Hyde. At Pam’s request, no services will be held. A celebration of her life will be held spring 2022. Pam was a remarkable lady and will be dearly missed.  The family suggests that memorial donations may be made in Pam's name to the Pantry Partners, 3614 ALC Way, Stevensville, MT 59870.
