Florence - Patrick Joseph Heimark passed away quietly at home on December 15, 2024, at the age of 89.
He was born May 5, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Orr Heimark; his children Terri J (Tony) Feilzer of Fargo, ND, Steve (Julie) Heimark of Las Vegas, NV, Jeff Heimark of Portland OR; grandchildren Zachary Feilzer, Rachel Feilzer, Robert Feilzer, Matthew Heimark, Nathan Heimark, Paige Heimark, Ben Heimark and Brooke Heimark; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son Brian Heimark, father, Edward Heimark, his mother Beatrice Heimark, siblings Elmonda Carlson, David Heimark, Daniel Heimark, John (Jack) Heimark, Edmond Heimark, Shirley, Richard Heimark
He loved his children dearly he was proud of them and supported them in all their
endeavors and it was the highlight of his day when they would call. He loved his
grandchildren immensely and was quick to talk about them and share pictures.
He graduated from Granite County HS in Phillipsburg MT; he attended BYU in Provo UT where he met his wite Joan while she attended Hollywood beauty school.
He was in the US Army stationed in Germany from 1956-1959
Their first year of marriage they lived in Phillipsburg, MT where Pat was raised, they moved to Missoula and Florence, MT for the next 62 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. He served for many years in the scouting program and other callings.
He was big fan of BYU sports but especially football. He lived his life outdoors by hiking 53 peaks in Glacier National Park, a member of the Over the Hill Gang that hiked in GNP on Thursdays. He was proud of hiking the summit of Mount Whitney and the Rim to Rin in the Grand Canyon. He like to fish blue ribbon streams and brought home many trout. He was a runner for many years and ran 3-4 marathons including the Spokane Lilac, The Missoula Bank run, the July 24th in SLC, The Governor's Cup in Helena and one race in Hawaii. In his 40's he gave a try at bull riding and joined the MT Rodeo Association. Some of his adventures included shooting a big horn ram, sky
diving, hunting moose, deer, elk, collecting rocks from all his hikes, getting wood all summer when we had a wood stove. Pat took each of his sons on 50-mile hikes in the Bob Marshall range before they were 12 years old. It also took them to many lakes and streams around Montana. Including 5am fishing off the Oregon coast. Services will be held in the Spring when the grass is green and the sun is shining.
