Patrick Tveraa Obituary

Missoula - Patrick Francis Tveraa was born on September 15, 1980, in Seattle, Washington, to Pat and Maggie Tveraa. He passed away on April 15, 2026, surrounded by those who loved him most at the Hope Hospice Center in Missoula, Montana.

Patrick was the oldest and only son of Pat and Maggie. He was a quiet, happy child whose fondest memories included playing T-ball, visiting his uncle’s lake house, spending time with his grandparents, and boating on the lake, all while being quietly terrified of the water. Growing up in the 1980s meant countless hours spent with neighborhood friends racing RC cars, playing football, and riding bikes “a time when he was happy,” as he often said.

In 1987, Patrick became a big brother to his sister, Liz. Though he gained a “tag-along,” he also embraced the responsibility his parents gave him, to always look out for her. It wasn’t always his favorite role, but it was one he honored faithfully throughout his life.

In 1992, the family moved from Washington to Victor, Montana, eventually settling in Stevensville, where Patrick attended school. It was there, in junior high, that he met his lifelong best friend, Calvin Saylor. Where there was one, the other was never far behind. As Patrick would say, “He’s my brother.”

After high school, Patrick wasn’t quite sure what path life would take him in. In March 2001, on a whim, he traveled to Havre, Montana, with his friend Dan Clevidence for what was meant to be a short getaway. Instead, it became a turning point. There, he built a new life, formed lasting friendships, and met Jennifer Hill. They were married for nearly 10 years. In 2006, Patrick moved with his family to Missoula, Montana.

The true loves of Patrick’s life were his daughters, Natalie (born in 2002) and Allyx (born in 2007). Becoming a father changed him in the best way. He thrived in that role, finding joy and purpose in every moment spent with them. Whether it was watching baseball, attending concerts, or taking their recent dream trip to Boston, just the three of them, those memories meant everything to him.

Patrick was raised with a servant’s heart, a value instilled by his parents. In high school, he volunteered with Pantry Partners, helped with youth programs at the Assembly of God Church, and served with the Stevensville Volunteer Fire Department. As an adult, he continued giving back through the Lifeguard Group.

In 2007, Patrick began his career with the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office as a Detention Officer. Drawn to service, he took immense pride in his work. Known for stepping up when it mattered most, he often volunteered for the toughest assignments, including guarding and transporting high-risk inmates. He medically retired in January 2025, determined to spend his remaining time on his own terms. Because if you knew Pat, everything was on his terms.

Patrick had a gift for friendship. From childhood on, he believed he could “hang with anyone,” and he did. He showed up for people, no matter what. Loyal, generous, and fiercely protective, he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and often did.

He loved sports, baseball, football, basketball and especially golf. When he wasn’t on the course, you might find him at a concert, traveling, camping, playing video games, attending a game, or simply spending time with his daughters and friends.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, and both sets of grandparents. He is survived by his daughters, Natalie (Caden) and Allyx (Avynn); his sister Liz (James); his nephew Branden; and his nieces Kelly and Megan. He is also survived by his lifelong friend Calvin (Addy) Saylor; close friends Michael (Jaime) Buckley, Matt (Erica) McConaughey, Mike (Crystal) Odem; and many others, including his extended family at the Sheriff’s Office. To all of his friends—know that he carried each of you in his heart.

Patrick’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled. He will be missed more than words can ever express.

A memorial service will be held on May 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Daly Mansion. A celebration of life will follow, with food, music, and stories. Guests are welcome to bring a side dish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his GoFundMe (found on Facebook under his sister Liz Pickford) to assist with final expenses and support his daughters, or to a charity in his name, such as the Lifeguard Group’s annual golf tournament.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Partners in Home Care and the Hope Hospice Center for their compassionate and exceptional care. Their staff provided comfort, dignity, and unwavering support during Patrick’s final days. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
