Ralph Marvin Scheffler

Stevensville - Ralph Marvin Scheffler was born in Noxon, MT on March 2, 1932 to Clyde Elmer Scheffler and Myrtle Gill Scheffler and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the age of 91. He worked in the woods as a kid cutting poles with his dad. He moved to Missoula with his mom and dad when he was 12 years old where he attended Missoula schools. He went into the Marines at the age of 19 and served 4 years. He worked at odd jobs for several years and then went into operating heavy equipment in the early 60's and 70's. He married Bonnie Marie Cote in 1962. They had 2 children, Scott Theodore born in 1964 and Sandy Alan born in 1966. The family started in Ronan then moved to Lolo and then to Florence, MT. Once in Florence, Ralph started Scheffler Wood Products and with the help of his wife and kids he operated it for 35 years. After he retired he picked up woodcutting as a hobby for several years. He enjoyed many years of hunting, camping, fishing and snowmobiling with his friends and family. He also got joy from playing and then managing an over 50 baseball team for several years. Ralph is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Scott and his wife Sandra of Bozeman, son Sandy and his wife Wendy, grandson Brandon of Florence, many nephews and nieces and by brothers-in-law Pat and Lawrence (Cheri). He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Bud, Ed and Ted and his sisters Nellie, Mable, June and Helen. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. at the Whitesitt Funeral Home located at 314 Church St in Stevensville MT.
