Randy Joe Summers

Stevensville - Randy Joe Summers was called home to the Lord suddenly on November 15, 2021, at 61 years old. Randy was born July 21, 1960 to the late Rhoda Ann (Beattie) and Richard Lee Summers in Ravailli County, Montana; where he lived his entire life. A builder by trade, he and his wife, Donna Elizabeth (Dickinson) of over 20 years were remodeling their home and improving their property. If he was not building, you could find him fixing something or taking hikes with Donna and their two four-legged children, Jackie and Kera. Randy loved hunting, fishing, mushroom picking, and exploring the great outdoors. Besides his wife Donna, he leaves behind three sons and seven grandchildren; Ryan Summers (Gage); Jordan (Ashley) Summers (Chase, Haylee Jo and Sadie); and Taylor (Maria) Summers (Nova, Porter, and Colton. Upon marry Donna on February 24, 2001, he added two step daughters to his family. He is survived by them and five grandchildren; Heather Dickinson (Trenton, KaylaRose, and Channing Joe); Ashley Dickinson (Shaina and Jenzen). Surviving him are one brother and three sisters, Wayne (Peggy) Summers, Shirley Summers, Debbie (David) Casteel, and Vickie (Ron) Dykman and many nieces and nephews. His extended family in Michigan, Cindy, Cheryl, Leslie, and Timothy, his brothers and sisters in law and their families. Randy was currently attending Dayspring Church and walked with the Lord daily. The following are a few words from Randy’s children: Remembering the good times, hunting and fishing, enjoying the outdoors, back road drives, asparagus hunting, rabbit hunting; any kind and other peoples was the flavor of choice. This shaped the love for the outdoors in all his sons. Being a “MacGyver” and a master tradesman, no matter the trade: building, construction, mechanic skills, and log home building helped molds his sons to their current professions. If you wanted to meddle in his business, the answer would “Nun Ya Business”. Ryan, Jordan and Taylor Summers. Integrity, strong, knowledgeable, loving, supportive, hard-working, hilarious, trusting, understanding, generous, patient, encouraging, and one of a kind are only a few words that describe my dad. No words can express what my dad truly meant to me. He was and always will be my protector. My counselor. My strength to “just figure it out’ as he says. My friend, my cheerleader and my teacher. Forgiveness, loyalty, honesty, compassionate, unconditional love and yet stern; are all traits that he passed down to his grandchildren and I. The greatest dad and papa, he will forever be in our hearts and soul. Always guiding our way, our guardian angel, my dad and papa. Heather Dickinson. My DRS, DRS stands for Dad Randy Summers. My dad was a man like no other. He guided me throughout life, nurtured me, taught me, dressed me, fought for me, held me, shouted at me, kissed me, but most importantly; he loved me unconditionally. There are not enough words I can say to describe just how important DRS was to and what a powerful influence he still continues to be. Thanks for all you’ve done to help shape me into who I am.
