Stevensville - Reverend Emmanuel E. Etter, 84, went to be with his Lord May 17, 2021. He was born in Emmett, Idaho in 1937 to John W. and Jessie Etter. He married the love of his life Sondra Starkey in 1960. They were married 57 years when Sondra passed away. They are survived by their three children Rebekkah, Lorrille and Eric E., 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild on the way. Emmanuel was in active ministry as an ordained elder for The Church of the Nazarene for 30 years. He was skilled in working with his hands carving intricate figures in wood, carpentry and mechanical (never throw things away, dad could always fix it). He and his dad before him were known to design and make the tool they needed to get a job done. He used all these skills in service to God and the church. He helped to plan and build several church additions, built church signs, did electrical work and used these skills to help people both in the church and in the community. Emmanuel gave us so much! He shared his strength and resilience. He shared the skill of his hands. He shared a love for God and His word. He shared his love for music. He imparted a way of looking at the world with a little humor and the compassion that comes as we endeavor to see the world through the eyes of Christ. A memorial service will be held at Bitterroot Valley Church of the Nazarene Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00 P.M.
