Stevensville - I hide my tears, when I say your name, the pain in my heart is still the same. Although I smile and seem care free, there is no one who misses you more than me. A limb has fallen from our tree, that says grieve not for her, remember the best times, the laughter, the songs, the good life she lived while she was strong.
With great sadness, I have lost my beloved wife, Rosalind “Roz” Catalano Geis. Roz was born January 20, 1947 in Cleveland Ohio to Charles and Nancy Catalano; the middle daughter of three girls. Roz was a kind and gentle person that brought a light so great to the world, that even after she is gone, that light remains strong.
We met the love of “OUR” lives and married May 28, 1991, at Circus Circus, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roz moved to the Bitterroot Valley with her husband, Jack, in 1995. Roz worked at the Super 1 Foods in Stevensville for 5 years and started being a para at Stevensville Elementary K-3 for 13 years, before retiring in 2017. Roz served her loving God with all of her heart; being very active at the St. Mary’s Parish in Stevensville. She loved quilting, gardening and taking care of her husband at home. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of being her friend and knowing her.
Roz leaves behind many friends and family who will laugh, cry and remember what a special person she was. She touched the hearts of many. Roz was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nancy Catalano, her sister Fran; and her precious German Shepherd, Samantha.
Roz is survived by her loving husband, John “Jack” Geis, and two of the brightest lights in her life, sons, Chris and Ricky, a granddaughter, Brittany and Great granddaughters, Aurora Sky and Avayah Rose, and a sister, Charlene & husband Anthony Grasso.
Private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
The Dash In Between
I knelt down at the headstone of the one I love and cried. Name, with dates of birth and death were perfectly inscribed. I pondered these two dates and how little they both mean When compared to the tiny dash that lies there in between.
The dash serves as an emblem of our time here on the earth. And although small, it stands for all our years of life and worth.
And our worth will be determined by how we live each day, We can fill our dash with goodness, or waste our life away. To ourselves, as well as others, let’s be honest, kind and true, And every day, live the way we know God wants us to.
May we look for opportunities to do a worthy deed, And reach out with compassion to those who are in need.
For if our hearts are full of love throughout our journey here, We’ll be loved by all who knew us and our memory they’ll hold dear. And when we die, these memories will bring grateful, loving tears, To all whose lives were touched by the dash between our years.
