Sharon Briggs Obituary

Stevensville – Sharon Briggs, 76 of Stevensville peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born December 31, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the oldest daughter to A. Grant Briggs and Jetta Wood Briggs. In her youth, Sharon worked on the family farm; always finding joy in being her father’s right hand woman. She also enjoyed participating in school activities and being a cheerleader. In her spare time she loved to crochet, make baskets from wood and rope, sew, and play the piano; especially Jazz. One of Sharon’s first loves was music. She began learning the piano at 4 years old. She carried her love by teaching piano through her college years, accompanied the Payette High School Choir, and participated in the Treasure Valley Community Jazz Band. Sharon graduated from Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho where she pursued a degree in Business and Accounting at Idaho State University. Sharon loved working and keeping her mind active and challenged. She worked as an accountant at Cowboy Oil, trained in many management positions from Holiday Inn and Best Western Hotels, became one of the leading realtors in her company, and Executive Director of a Cultural Center in Oregon. Sharon was a fiercely strong and loving daughter, sister, aunt, and most of all – mother. She is survived by her daughter, Candace Briggs (Stevensville), five siblings Caren (Bryce) Clinger, Centerville, Utah, Elaine (Mark) Chessler, Preston, Idaho, Rene Reid, Sandy, Utah, and Alan (Alison) Briggs, Rangely, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, A. Grant Briggs and Jetta Wood Briggs; and her sister, Shelley Briggs Anderson. Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held at 11:00 am on July 9, 2024 at Stevi West Park. A reception will take place immediately after the service.
