Stevensville - Sharon Marlene Manning Johnson, 77, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Living Center. She was born September 19, 1947.
Survived by her husband of 54 years, Ralph Johnson and two sons Russell and Aaron and grandchildren (known as Chicken Grandma) Taylor, Alexander, Zachary, Gavin, Phillip, Andrew, Sean, and Loren. Preceded in death by her parents Joseven and Harrell Manning and sister Charlott. She is survived by sisters Shirley, Christine, and Janet and brother George and David.
Sharon was noted for her love of her sheep. She was known for mentoring many youth in the Bitterroot Valley in sheep husbandry. Her favorite event of the year was the annual visit to her farm of Bitterroot’s kindergarten kids. She had a passion for canning and was an expert, teaching many the art. Sewing was her second skill, and was known for her seamstress ability.
Sharon graduated from Humboldt State College, where she studied home economics. Her married life saw her living in MacDoel, Hayfork, Burney, and Redding California. She moved to Missoula, MT for 8 years, then moved back to Stevensville. While raising two teenage children, she managed the gift shop and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. After moving to Stevensville, she assisted in the development of Ravalli Hops, LLC. She loved to travel and visit numerous relatives in the SE United States and was an avid genealogist. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and assisted many in attaining this honor.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025 at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Church in Stevensville, following the burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery there will be a celebration of her life at the St. Mary’s family center next to the church.
