Stevensville - Steve Pederson was born August 21, 1961 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Gwendolyn Alice Johnston Pederson and Earl Henry Pederson. Steve grew up on a farm near Lasalle, Minnesota. In his Senior year of high school his family moved to Plentywood, Montana. After graduation he worked at the John Deere Dealership as a mechanic. It was at this time that he met future wife Joanie Eckert, they married in June 26, 1982 after she graduated from high school. In 1983 their daughter Racheal was born. In 1985 Steve joined the United States Army. He did his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He then moved his family to Fort Hood, Texas where he was stationed. In 1986 their son Grant was born. Steve moved his family to Stevensville, Montana before he was sent to Germany for two years. After his time in the military he moved his family to Dillon, Montana where he worked at the John Deere Implement for 23 years as a Diesel mechanic. In 2010 he took a job at Triple W in Missoula, Montana. He stayed with the business when it was sold to RDO a few years later. While with RDO he became one of three licensed master mechanics in the state of Montana for John Deere. In March of 2017 he was in an auto accident on his way home from work which ended up in him being disabled. In May of 2022 he was diagnosed with cancer, and passed away October 20, 2022. He is survived, by his wife Joanie Pederson, daughter Racheal (Kevin) McCoy, twin granddaughters Kaialynn and Kaitlynn, and grandson Dillon; his sister Sue Utoh.
