Hamilton – August 23, 1928 in Missoula, MT, brought a baby boy to Chuck and Olive Plummer. They named him Theordore Roy Plummer. He grew up along “Plummer Slough” just north of Lolo.
After graduating from Missoula County High School in 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed in San Diego and served in the West Coast Amputee Hospital on Mare Island.
After returning from the navy, Ted attended the Caterpillar Diesel mechanic school in Peoria, IL.
Ted and Joyce Smith were married November 27, 1950. They were married almost 72 years. Ted worked for many construction companies and diesel companies over the years. In their “spare” time, they built several (10) homes around western Montana.
Ted loved his family and provided well for them. He never “met a stranger” and would help anyone that he could. He enjoyed hunting, raising cows, horses and mules and pack trips into the “Bob”. Gardening and flowers kept him busy. He was always moving.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Olive Plummer, his wife Joyce, daughter Peggy, son-in-law, Barry Schlecht, brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Sylvia, brother-in-law, Glenn Derrickson.
He is survived by his sister, Gail Derrickson of Circle, MT, daughter Linda (Jerome) Yoder, granddaughter, Tanya (Joe) LeCoure, great-grandsons, Liam (Ellie), AJ (Olivia) and their children, Dahlia and Iris, great-granddaughter Adrienne LeCoure, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ted passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Bee Hive Homes in Hamilton. There is no service at this time per Ted’s choice. A special thank you for the love and care he received from the employees at the Hamilton Bee Hive Homes. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.whitesittfuneralhome.com.
