Stevensville - Troy Shayne Harman passed away from natural causes in the log home he built in Stevensville, MT on May 11, 2024. He was 55 years old. Troy was born on January 31, 1969, to Sheila (Athey) Harman and Thomas G. Harman in Ohio. Troy was the eldest of three children. Troy’s brother, Tracy was born a year after him in 1970. His sister, Jody, who was born in 1976. The three young Harmans had many adventures together. Throughout childhood, Troy’s family traveled to different parts of Ohio and West Virginia, for his dad, Tom’s work. Troy's family moved to Montana in pursuit of the logging business. Troy attended and graduated in 1987 from Stevensville High School. During high school, Troy showcased a stunning artistic talent for painting wildlife and nature scenes. Once he graduated, Troy carried his love for the outdoors into his work. He worked for the Stevensville Hot Shot Crew. After leaving the Hot Shots, he operated logging equipment and trucks. He was the “ADZ Man”. He did beautiful work with logs and was a sought-after peeler for custom log homes. Later, Troy worked in the oil fields for Rocky Mountain Casing Crew in Williston, North Dakota where he drove heavy casing trucks. He was also a crane operator. Troy also worked as a General Foreman. Troy put his all into his work. Troy was a true outdoorsman. He filled his life with floating, camping, fishing, and hunting trips with friends and family. He loved studying wildlife and appreciated the woods. He loved to share his love for the outdoors and faith in God. As a Christian, Troy worked hard to share the word of God and help those in need. Troy, Tracy, and Jody remained close friends throughout the years. They loved outdoor adventures, especially hunting together which led to great times and good conversations. In 2013, Troy’s younger sister, Jody passed away after a long battle with lupus and the brothers leaned on each other for support. Troy spent his life believing in the best of others. He believed in the good in life and always had a helping hand for anyone who needed it. He was active in his church Light of The Valley. Troy is survived by his parents, Thomas and Shelia Harman, his brother, Tracy Harman, sister-in-law Elizabeth Harman, and nephew Levi Harman, his niece Jada Hunsucker; and his aunts and uncles, Dreama and Troy Hoskinson, Robin and Tina Athey, Roy and Shelly Athey, Burma Van Winkle, Richard and Kathy Athey, Russ and Joy Robertson, and Michael and Belinda Roberts. Troy’s memorial will be held at the Light of The Valley located at 103 N. Kootenai Creek Road,, Stevensville, MT on July 28th at 6 p.m. Condolences can be sent to P.O.
