Stevensville - Laura “Sue” Riggs passed away peacefully from complications of cancer on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at St. Patrick Hospital. She was born on July 8, 1953 in Salmon, ID to Marilyn W. Smith and Joe C. Riggs. She graduated from high school in Baker, OR in 1972. On March 19, 1978, Sue had a daughter, Nicole and the two of them would weather all of life’s storms together and became best friends for life. Sue loved a good adventure and the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She had a passion for rescuing animals, a wicked sense of humor and a love for music and dancing. She loved and missed her grandma dearly and shared those stories frequently. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn W. Gibson, her father, Joe C. Riggs and grandparents, Glen C. and Laura E. Smith. She is survived by her beloved dog and cat, Keisha and Bella; daughter, Nicole K. Riggs (Summer Bouchard) of Stevensville; brothers, Michael Moser (Leroy) of Tukwila, WA, Tracy A. Moser of Stevensville, Joel Riggs of Pocatello, ID and Corey Riggs of Portland, OR; sisters, Connie Hopper of Corvallis, MT and Jolene (Mark) Welker of Pocatello, ID; several nieces and nephews and her good friend, Shawna Munson. Sue requested cremation with no services and instead, she just asked that everyone lives and loves life to the fullest.

Nikki..your Mom was one of a kind. No one could have loved you more...even when
She was mad at you. I feel so honored that I was able to call her my friend. I
Am so glad I got to see her at th store a while back. Who would have known it was the last time.
You are for sure in my prayers.❤️

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Sue. My maiden name is Nehl and was from Morristown, SD. Sue and her family lived there for awhile and we were in the same grade. We spent a lot of time together in Morristown and were good friends. May you all keep your fond memories of Sue deep in your hearts. God Bless. Roxann Nehl Glines
