STEVENSVILLE - Mary Meckler, 98, of Stevensville passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Community Medical Center in Missoula.  She was born February 11, 1913 in Dickinson, ND the daughter of Emmanuel B. and Barbara (Kunz) Fisher.

          Mary was raised and educated in Dickinson, ND.  She married John J. Meckler on May 29, 1935 in Sidney, MT.  They lived in Fort Peck, MT until moving to Missoula in 1940.  They remained in Missoula until moving to Dixon, MT in 1955 and together they remained there for 28 years.  Mary and John retired to Stevensville in 1986.

          Mary loved gardening, music and crocheting.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.  Mary is survived by 4 children, Barbara Meckler of Hamilton, Darlene Cotton and husband Kay of Hurricane, UT, Marlene Ebel and husband Lon of Stevensville, and John Meckler and wife Marian of Plains; 3 brothers, Ed and John Fisher of Salem, OR and Charles Fisher of Lincoln City, OR; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

          Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Corvallis Cemetery at 2:00 pm.  There will be a reception following the services at the home of Marlene and Lon Ebel (3756 Salish Trail, Stevensville).  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers the donations be made in Mary's name to the charity of the donor's choice.

Barbara, Darlene, Marlene, John & Families -

I was saddened to hear of the passing of your Mom, but at the same time it brought back so many childhood memories that made me smile. I'm glad you had so many precious years with your Mom. She and my Mom were such good friends and I remember her as a very dear lady. Just want you to know I'm thinking of you, praying for you, and sending my love.
