Stevensville - James Thomas Michels, 49 of Stevensville passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St. Patrick Hospital. He was born August 29, 1964 in Missoula to Joseph and Lorranie Michels. Jim was raised in Missoula and finished school at Hellgate High School. As a member of the legendary “Northsiders Crew”, Jim spent his time with friends and family at the North Side Park, the Silver Dollar and numerous haunts frequented by said crew. Jim enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting, was a pretty good artist and loved music. Jim is survived by his brothers, Brett of Clinton and Bill of Lolo, their families and scores of life-long friends. All will miss him and remember him as one-of-a-kind. We would like to thank all of Jimmy’s friends for the hospital visits and the support they gave him when he needed them the most. We know he appreciated it. “Rest in peace Jimmy, we love you.”

I am sad to hear that Jimmy is no longer with us. I would like to extend my condolences to his family. I knew Jimmy for a long time. We met at the El Matador in the mall and I considered him not only a co-worker, but a true friend. He is the only person I would lend money to, knowing that he would pay it back to me on the exact day he said he would. I enjoyed going snow skiing and shooting guns with him. He always listened to Jimmy Hendrix Purple Haze at work! Great guy, who will be missed in Missoula!
