Victor - Irene Dorothy Henderson of Victor passed away peacefully at the Village Health Care Center on June 9th 2017 in Missoula, Montana at the age of 80. Irene is survived by Her son Steve Henderson and his wife Dorinda of Glendive, Montana and her son Peri Henderson and his wife Renee of Stevensville, Montana, her sister Elaine Novak, and brother Bill Hanson both of Missoula, Montana, 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Agnes Hanson, her husband of 49 years, Wallace Henderson and her infant son, Kevin. Irene was born on October 12 1936 in Deer Lodge, Montana, she was raised and schooled in Ovando, Montana. She married Wallace in 1949 and they lived in Ovando, Montana then they relocated to Missoula. In the early 1960's they moved to the Bitterroot Valley to begin farming and ranching. Irene established a career as a Chiropractic assistant in Hamilton where she worked for 26 years and later moved on to cashiering at Super One Foods for 16 years. She also maintained the books and records as the Secretary Treasurer for Henderson Trucking for over 40 years. Irene was famous for her fudge, and loved to garden, cook and go fishing. Irene had a big heart and loved to visit and help people. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. Her funeral is scheduled for Wednesday June 14th at 1:00pm at Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville. A graveside service at Stevensville's Riverside Cemetery will follow the funeral, with a reception at the Stevensville American Legion Hall Post 94, on Burnt Fork Road. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Irene's life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Donations to the Shriners Hospital in Spokane, Washington.
